September at the Miners’ Library

What a busy month we had at the Miners’ Library during September.

We had our usual preparations for the start of a new term; ordering and processing new stock and preparing book boxes to support community based classes.

At the same time we had a day off for staff training, which included a visit to the splendid new Bay Library on the Bay Campus. We had a wonderful welcome from the staff there, and we were very impressed by the fabulous new facilities, and the view!

This set us up nicely for 2 weeks of enrolments and inductions out in the community and on campus. Where we welcomed new and returning DACE students and delivered sessions on all the new Library & IT updates. These sessions included information on iFind (the library catalogue); Automatic Renewals; LibraryPlus (which replaces DALLAS) and Knowledge Base FAQ’s to name but a few. These sessions were held in Llanelli, Banwen, Pontarddulais, Townhill, Narberth, Pembroke Dock, Haverfordwest, Neath and Campus.

It was exceptionally busy, but great to meet with all the students and staff; and we wish them good luck for the new term.
